Marine Lt Ryan McGlothin RIP

Lt McGlothin, who was killed in Iraq, was mentioned by President Bush in his latest speech. These are the types of young men fighting and dying for freedom.

President Bush said:

"One of these men was a Marine lieutenant named Ryan McGlothlin from Lebanon, Virginia. Ryan was a bright young man who had everything going for him, and he always wanted to serve our nation. He was the valedictorian of his high school class. He graduated from William and Mary with near perfect grade averages, and he was on a full scholarship at Stanford where he was working toward a doctorate in chemistry.

Two years after the attacks of September 11, the young man who had the world at his feet came home from Stanford for a visit. He told his dad, I just don't feel like I'm doing something that matters. I want to serve my country. I want to protect our land from terrorists, so I joined the Marines.

When his father asked him if there was some other way to serve, Ryan replied that he felt a special obligation to step up because he had been given so much. Ryan didn't support me in the last election, but he supported our mission in Iraq, and he supported his fellow Marines. Ryan was killed last month fighting the terrorists near the Iraq/Syrian boarder.

In his pocket was a poem that Ryan had read at his high school graduation, and it represented the spirit of this fine Marine. The poem was called "Don't Quit."
(end speech)
He was twice the man in half the time I'll ever be. Rest in Peace, Ryan.

Such an American thing to do. We are raised to respect innocent life above all. We are raised to understand that OUR freedom was handed to us with a dying hand and we are raised to love our country and help those who are less fortunate.

This young man's death is a terrible loss for his family and for our country as well. I do not feel that his death is in vain. From what I've seen of Iraqis - THEY know and THEY appreciate what he has done. (As I appreciate it.) The Iraqis have risked life and limb along with the coalition to make this work.

God bless America, God bless Iraq and God bless and comfort all fallen soldiers families.

Then it is unamerican to kill 10000s of innocent Iraqis.

Definition of leftist: Frank O'Dwyer.

In Franks world it's fine that millions of innocents are murdered - Saddams mass graves, the gulags of USSR, Pol Pot.

In Franks world it's fine to lie to advance your cause - did you get that number from The Lancet, Frank?

The brave and noble will always have to risk life and limb to save the Frank O'Dwyers.

Keep hiding in that corner, Frank! Keep complaining, Frank! We're out there saving your sorry ass - it's the way it has always been. We can't avoid saving the Frank O'Dwyers although if it were up to me we'd throw them to the wolves.

10000s of Iraqis have been killed according to George W. Bush. It is unamerican and immoral to kill innocents, isn't it?

I also notice you're quite the hypocrite, as you resort to lying in order to advance your cause: I have never claimed that it is "fine" that innocents are killed.

Isn't there a commandment against bearing false witness?

I never claimed to be a very good Christian, Frank. So don't try that bullshit with me.

Here's the deal, bozo. If it hadn't been for coalition forces risking life and limb the mass graves would still be accepting occupants.

How are you about that? Pretty comfortable for you is it?

Nothing that Saddam did gives the US a license to ALSO kill as many innocent people as it wishes, especially when much of the atrocities happened when Saddam was an ally of the US and received assistance from the US.

30,000+ people - when helping people means killing them you know that someone is lying.

Most killed by IED's and terrorists.

Libs just love to skip over the moral morass of terrorists who kill innocent Iraqi men, women and children. I'm of the belief they don't ignore it, they condone it.

Ah yes, another deluded lib who has NEVER read the SIPRI report. I do understand that reading it would shatter the fragile delusion liberal consider reality.

Top 3 weapon suppliers 1973-1990:

1. USSR 57%
2. France 13%
3. China 12%

Russia, Iraq's largest weapon supplier, also has VX. Those poor Kurds.

Didn't see your rainbow coalition crying when the Kurds were gassed, nearly a million Rwandan's were massacred, or when the killing fields were revealed in Cambodia.

Your silence is deadly...

I send my prayers and sympathy to the family of Lt. Ryan McGlothin.

Like so many brave, unassuming, principled people wearing the uniforms of our armed forces, he quietly did his duty, believed in what he did, did not waver in his commitment, and willingly sacrificed all to enable others to enjoy a better life.

He is a shining example of what is good and noble about our nation.

Farewell and Godspeed, Ryan.

In response you bring up the SIPRI report, which among other things shows that Saddam received assistance from the US at that time.

Are you drunk?

Frank as you prove every time you post your just an ass. You ignore the parts of people posts that don't support your sad twisted view of the world. Like all the rest of the moonbats out there you've lost, all you have left is the foam thats coming out of your mouth. I pity someone like you that just can't grasp that not only are you wrong with every thought that has ever passed through your head, but you have lost and will never win again I would feel sorry for you but in your case I'll just laugh

Evidence?

By the way, do you ask only of America that it kill less innocents than terrorists? Don't you expect better than that?

That's because I don't have a rainbow coalition.

Troll,

You ignore the parts of people posts [...].

No I don't. I don't respond to strawmen. If you think I've neglected something important, or you want me to respond to something specific, then point to it.
