Blair Takes the Lead Against Iran

Tony Blair has taken the point position for the West against warning Iran about it's nuclear ambitions, Fox News reports.

"I think the first thing to do is to secure agreement for a reference to the Security Council, if that is indeed what the allies jointly decide, as I think seems likely," Blair told the House of Commons, adding that he was in close contact with Washington on the issue.
"We obviously don't rule out any measures at all," Blair said when asked about possible sanctions. "It's important Iran recognizes how seriously the international community treats it."

Economic sanctions may sound weak to some, given the serious nature of the threat, but at least this all gets the ball in play. Hopefully, the world will be serious about this threat, and not just let sanctions buy time for the Mullahs. Then again, using the word "hope" in conjunction with "Securtiy Council" is really grabbing on to threads!

It's a start - but the sooner the mass airstrikes happen the better!

DV, I'm always pleased to see when you check into my blog! Let's see what kind of cry arises from the left over just the thought of sanctions. The West has to hang together, or we shall all hang seperately.

The UN is a complete waste of time and effort. It's laughable that ANYONE would think that and 'official' type statement from the UN would mean anything.

I agree with DV - bombs away!!!
