Alan, Are You There???

Alan, I haven't heard from you in a good week. Hope that everything is going OK or you're on vacation or something.

Chas,

Everything is fine. The opposite of a vacation: I found a job! Been out of work for many months. Now have to budget my time.

Will write soon,
Love, Alan

Good for you Alan! I'm glad you're ok, I guess I'm turning into a mother hen!

Oh I have been SO worried - so has Troll. We were hoping that you were okay. Congrats on your job, Alan and thanks for letting us know.

Friends,

All is well. I now have a regular job (contract, but through the end of the year at least). The reason I had so much time to post and comment on the blogosphere up until now was the combination of 1) my lack of gainful employment outside the home and 2) my wife having a job that kept her off this computer for hours at a time. (The only reason she is not on the computer at the moment is that she is enroute to see our granddaughter in North Carolina for Easter.)

BTW, what's everyone having for dinner on Sunday? I will check back in tomorrow night to see how y'all are doin.

Ham, baby! Ham, ham and MORE ham! Plus my birthday cake! Troll and the girls will be making the cake.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Having been out of work (except for a few "fill in" contract jobs) for over a year, it is good to be back on a regular 9-5, Mon.-Fri. schedule.

FYI, I am a Technical Writer working for this (small) company under contract to this (big) company. I will be there at least until the end of this year (hopefully longer). I won't be blogging from work, so you will only "see" me evenings and weekends from now on.

Thanks again, all.

P.S. I just realized that my "luck of the draw" in this contractor's economy has put me in the same industry as you, Chas. [Actually, the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary that I am working at makes blood analyzers instead of pharmaceuticals.]
